Can't open 1Password might be damaged

My wife tried to open the 1Password application on her MacBook Air, and a small pop-up came up telling her she could not open it because it is damaged. What should she do? Thanks.

I'm sorry that your wife ran into an issue where she isn't able to open 1Password. If she can see all of her items when she logs in to her 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app) then uninstall and reinstall the 1Password desktop app:

    1. Quit all open web browsers.
    2. Right click on the 1Password icon in your macOS menu bar and click Quit. If you don't see 1Password's icon in the menu bar then you can skip this step.
    3. Open the Applications folder on your Mac.
    4. Drag "1Password" to the trash.
    5. Restart your Mac.
    6. Reinstall 1Password from our website: Download 1Password

Let me know if she runs into any issues.

That worked! Trashed the old app and reinstalled. It is working like it should now. Thank you for your help.

She can see everything in the Chrome browser extension... Does she need to uninstall that too?

Thanks for the reply. As long as your wife can see all of her items in 1Password in the browser, you can have her follow the steps to uninstall and install the desktop app. There's no need to uninstall the browser extension.
