Cmd-\ shortcut on Chrome

On my wife's Mac (10.14.6) running the latest Chrome (92.0.4515.159) with 1Password 7.8.7 and the 2.0.5 Chrome extension, the Cmd-\ key simply does nothing. There is a 1Password symbol in the usernam...

Will that new extension eventually be rolled out to other browsers as well, or will it be chrome-specific? (Also, I don't think your online documentation talks about this.)
