After contacting support via email, the issue was to completely uninstall 1Password and re-install. Once you do that, you'll see an option in Settings -> Browser (on the desktop app) to add a new browser. To confirm, have you added Comet as an additional browser in the Browser section of the app's settings? If not, I'd recommend giving that a try.
If you have and things still aren't working, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:
Send a diagnostics report (Mac)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
With your email please include:

- Your forum username: alanwill00
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

Hi Trevor,
When you say "have you added Comet as an additional browser in the Browser section of the app's settings" can you confirm which app you're referring to? I don't see a way to set a preferred browser inside the 1Password settings so i'm not sure.
