Default email for new login
Hello! I'm trying to figure out an answer to an issue I'm having. Whenever I click on "New Item > Login" the default email it fills in for a new login is a different email address than what I signed up with. It's an old email that I rarely use anymore. How do I change the behavior so that it fills in with my 1password email?
Thank you!
Hello everyone,
I'm happy to share that, with the latest update to the stable version of 1Password (8.10.78), our team has added a setting to turn off the prefilling of usernames when creating new items in the app:
You can find instructions on how to update here: How to keep 1Password up to date
Thanks again for all of the feedback and for always helping us make 1Password more useful for your needs and your workflows.

Hello mastercheeks! 👋
Thank you for reaching out. When you create a new Login item, 1Password will now automatically fill your email address in the username field and generate a password. Username suggestions are based on the vault that you’re creating a new item in and are suggested based on frequency of previous use in that vault.
You can read more about this new feature on our blog under "Better item creation and navigation - New item creation flow": 1Password product enhancements [Winter edition]: Mobile improvements, better item creation, and even more security features
The team is currently testing having 1Password suggest the email address in your default identity if one is set. This change is currently in the nightly version of 1Password and will be released to the stable version as soon as possible.

I'm really frustrated by this change to the default behavior with no way to alter it! This new workflow is counter-productive to me, and even your proposed change of having it use the email for the default identity would be equally annoying.
I use a different email address for every website (think "username+website@gmail.com" or "websitename@mydomain.com"), so this means that every time I make a new login, I have to go back and delete before entering the new email address — that's two additional steps for no reason!
Please, add an option to customize this behavior — either to toggle whether it happens, or to customize what address it suggests. (it could actually even be nice if I could have 1Password fill in "@mydomain.com" and put the cursor at the beginning, or even have it automatically fill in the name of the login into the email address…)
