Downgrading from v8 to v7-Still possible?
I have resisted switching from V7 (which has been mostly working perfectly fine for years) to V8 (which I continue to read stories of people's unhappy experiences.) I'm considering testing out v8,...

Thanks for the question! 1Password 7 is no longer supported and I don't recommend using it anymore. You can find instructions on how to upgrade here: Upgrade to 1Password 8
Regarding downgrading, this isn't a path that we've recently tested since 1Password 7 hasn't been supported for some time. In general, upgrading is not a one-way door. If all of your items are in your 1Password account then you should be able to reinstall 1Password 7, add your account, and use the app for as long as it continues to work. If you're currently using legacy standalone vaults, which 1Password 8 doesn't support, then reverting back to 1Password 7 is more complicated and you might run into issues trying to revert back to your previous setup.
If you do end up trying 1Password 8 then please let us know about your experience!

Hi 1P_Dave
Yes, I fully understand the party-line "1Password 7 is no longer supported and I don't recommend using it anymore." That was not my question.
You wrote: "In general, upgrading is not a one-way door."
My account is on 1Password.com, not stand-alone. So can I assume that based on this configuration, I should have no problem to downgrade should I try 1Password8?
I'm trying to keep an open mind, but not optimistic given the number of issues I read about in this forum for a product that is already 4-1/2 years old.
(FWIW, even Apple is capable of releasing an Upgrade that is actually a Downgrade in many ways. Look no further than the UI/UX nightmare that is macOS 26 Tahoe!)
