3 years ago@mthomas184 I had held off switching from 1PW 7 to 8 because of the concerns expressed here. But now I’ve installed 8 on my phone, iPad and my wife has just gotten it installed on her new M2 iPad Pro. No Face ID issues whatsoever. If yours will be a new install you needn't worry. Now if for some unlikely reason you reset all settings on your device you might experience what others in these threads are. In 15 years of iOS devices I’ve never had reason to do this, so we've not had any issues. You can still install 7 if you wish, it works extremely well but in the 2 months I’ve now used 8 there have been no problems. My wife just activated her new iPad yesterday and we installed 8 shortly after, Face ID works perfectly. If you want 7 just go here :
