.
I have upgraded to 1Password 8 for Mac. Yesterday I had to re-set my iPhone settings and since then I cannot use Face ID to open 1Password. I have re-installed the 1Password app, checked to make sure 1Password is approved for using Face ID on my phone. Can you advise?

1Password Team
Hi @Hacktron:
Thanks for following up. The development team has found the cause of the problem and the specific parts of iOS that 1Password interacts with. They're actively working on a solution for the root cause of the problem. We're absolutely aware of the impact not having Touch ID or Face ID available to unlock 1Password causes and we're hoping to have something more to share on this soon.

Jack_P_1P are there honestly zero updates from the company so far on this issue? Even just acknowledgement of a problem would be a step.

Hey @pappjo, people aren’t “creating these problems for themselves”. The upgrade to iOS 16 caused many people to experience delays in spotlight searches, sometime of up to 15 seconds. This is clearly not how Apple intends spotlight to work. Apple’s fix for this issue and many others to to reset your settings. In my case Apple advised the setting reset and everything worked except 1Password. I am glad to hear that you are not affected by this problem. Stop making out like we are a bunch of jackalopes that don’t know how to use our phones. By the way, if Apple makes it possible to reset my settings, I should be able to do that all day long, everyday if I choose, and my apps ought to handle that situation gracefully. The problem is reproducible, and the folks at 1Password ought to be reproducing it as often as necessary to get a fix in the works, and that fix should have been released weeks ago.

Seriously disappointing 1P. You finally have us Apple Watch back to 1P8 but still haven’t fixed FaceID? These are basic tools now. Get your act in gear.

Is 1Password8 for iOS written using Electron?

I’m following a current discussion of 1PW on an Apple beta forum and none have reported such an issue with 1PW 8. So far I’ve only seen comments from the same people here who reset all settings which very few would ever need to do. In all my iOS devices for the last 15 years I’ve never done this and neither has anyone I know. So the issue is confined to a small set of users which makes it a difficult issue for any developer to pin down. And the simple solution if you did this reset for some reason is to use 1PW 7. You don’t miss out on anything. I’m not promoting 8 since I’m still using 7 and have no compelling reason to switch at this time. But the solution for those that created the problem for themselves is to use 7.

I agree. I don't think the issue is that the bug exists but rather the disdain with which 1Password has treated the customers who are experiencing it which make the app entirely unusable. Rather than keeping us all in the dark with barely any updates all they need to do is keep up in the loop with what is going on.

Legit thought I unfollowed this but keep getting notifications. Everyone, the solution is to delete version 8 and look at your purchased history and install version 7. Obviously reboot. God speed.
