Face ID stopped working, gone entirely after reinstall

Face ID has stopped working entirely and instead I’m prompted for my password every time. Initially, the settings said Face ID was enabled, both in settings and the app settings > security. I tried toggling both off and was then prompted to go to the settings app to turn it on, even though it already was. Various combinations of disabling, closing the app, and re-enabling were all tried. Nothing worked.

Resigned to deleting the app entirely and reinstalling. On initial open it asked if I’d like to enable Face ID and I said yes, but it did not fix it. Instead the in app says it’s enabled but Settings no longer even has the toggle to enable it.

This combined with the password field presenting under the iOS keyboard make the app entirely unusable.

Open 1Password app settings, security disable/ enable face i.d.
Then close the app and open it again..
If that does not work try this if you still have access to your passwords.
On your iPhone go to iOS settings, face i.d. & passcode, reset face i.d. and let rescan your face.
Then go back to Open 1Password app settings, security disable/ enable face i.d..
Then close the app and open it again.
Resetting your face i.d. might make you have to setup face i.d. with other apps, but you want have to rescan your face ever time.
