4 years agoFeature request - Automatic item placement
I actually like the new design, for the most part. But can there be an automatic filter to place new items into different vaults depending on email address?
I have different vaults for personal items and a separate one for work items. Did a consulting gig for a couples of years, working with enterprise clients, and standard practice there is to on-board you as an employee. Full-on corporate identity, domain account, VPN SSO with your domain account and all communication via mailto:first_lastname@company.com, that you also must use for any and all accounts, etc. Let me tell you, when you have to start juggling a few different customers at the same time, at 3-4 your head is starting to spin. And after contract is done, i just want to click one button and archive the entire vault, because I don't want to re-live horrors of their networks every time i open 1Password :)
Anyway, would you, pretty please, consider a feature of automatically sorting different accounts into different vaults or, perhaps, simply remembering into which vault the user placed items with certain login details and automatically placing them there there next time? Maybe even ask the user if they want a separate new vault for identity they are creating.
And you know what else would be a killer feature? To automatically linking similar or related logins to each other. Like you open an item, and at the bottom you see every duplicate and similar login with creation date and last use date. And if you let the user delete or merge them, that would be crazy. Not like Britney Spears crazy, but crazy nonetheless.

1Password Team
Hey there @pruchai
I'll pass on this idea about automatically choosing a vault for saving based on the username field to our development team for them to take a look at. No guarantees of anything, but if this feature is added to 1Password, you'll find it in the release notes, which you can see here: 1Password Releases.
On the other point, where you say "automatically linking similar or related logins to each other", can you tell me more about how you see this looking and working? What would be a good (even theoretical) example of this for you? I look forward to hearing from you.
