Thank you for the feedback! We've received a few requests over the years for a feature where you can request passwords securely from non-1Password users. While I can't make any promises, I'll let the team know that you're also interested in seeing this feature be added to a future version of 1Password.
For the time being, inviting the person to your 1Password membership as a guest would be the best option:

Would WhatsApp be considered a secure way to send the information? Not sure copying from 1Password to WhatsApp is secure....but it would be cool if it could be?

ModeratorI don't recommend sending passwords using a messenger app like Whatsapp. Instead you can use 1Password's secure item sharing to send passwords and other information to others: Securely share 1Password items with anyone
If you need to request information from others then you can invite them to your 1Password account as a guest: Share with guests in 1Password Families
