Firefox add-on can't fill

    Hello mschmitt​! 👋

    I'm sorry that you're running into issues when filling login credentials in Firefox. I can't reproduce the same issue using the same versions of both Firefox and 1Password can you try the following: 

    1. Close all open web browsers.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon at the top of your Mac's screen and then click Quit. Wait until the icon disappears.
    3. Double-click on 1Password from your Mac's Applications folder.
    4. Open your web browser. 


    If that doesn't work then are you using any other extensions aside from 1Password? If you turn those extensions off then do you still see the same issue? And does the issue occur on all websites that you try? Or just some?

It is working now -- maybe just needed to quit Firefox. *

FWIW, I did try disabling every extension other than 1Password. And the issue was on all websites.

    Sorry, need to reopen. I just figured out that 1Password can't fill if there's another Firefox Private Browsing window open.

    That is, having a Private Browsing window up breaks 1Password on other, non-private browsing windows. And that's even if the private browsing window is set so it doesn't load the 1Password extension.

      I can't reproduce the issue. Here's what I'm doing: 

      1. Completely close Firefox.
      2. Open a normal window in Firefox. 
      3. Open a Private window in Firefox. 
      4. Go to the normal window and try to fill a login on a webpage. 


      At step 4 the login fills. Can you tell me if you're following the same steps? What version of 1Password and Firefox are you using?

        I'm using Firefox 139.0.1 on macOS Ventura.

        I did some testing, and it is even weirder. If I quit Firefox and restart, then everything is fine, even with a private window open. But at some point after using Firefox for some time (I normally have it running for weeks), it stops working. And at that point, it is connected to the private window: private window open, extension problem. Close the private window, the extensions work. Open the private window, the start having the problem again. Close it, they are fine.

        1Password isn't the only affected extension. I also see problems in In My Pocket and Raindrop.io.

        Which explains why I don't see problems on my other machine, where I don't run FIrefox all the time, nor on Windows, where I never use private browsing windows.

        I'd open a Bugzilla case but I'm not the developer of the affected extensions. (And, there could be more extensions affected, I've just noticed issues with these three.)

        Next time it starts happening, what should I look for? One thing I can think of is to verify that it is related to a private browsing window, not just more than one window.
