Windows App - Rejects Credentials to Connect After Regenerating Secret Key
I recently regenerated my secret key. It populated to my phone fine. When I open my 1password app on my windows computer, it often shows everything but has a dialog box popup that says "Sign In" and something to the effect there has been a change to credentials. It does show the new secret code which I can verify from my safety kit. But when i type my password, it rejects it saying "Unable to sign in. We weren't able to sign in to your account. Maybe there's a typo? Check your sign-in details and try again." I notice it has a red no cloud symbol saying to "it needs to reconnect to show changes."
If I X out in the top right corner of the dialog box, the app seems to allow access presumably to the old and nonupdated changes.
What do I do to reconnect the app my account. Again it knows the secret key, just doesn't recognize my password. I have never changed my password and it works fine to login to my.1password on the web.
Help :) I know my credentials but the app won't accept them - for updated info access!
Hello Larrio! 👋
Thanks for reaching out, I'm glad that you were able to resolve the issue by typing in your new Secret Key. When you regenerate your Secret Key, 1Password will ask for your new Secret Key and your account password on each device you’re signed in to. You'll need to type this in manually (as you did) since only you know your new Secret Key.

Let me know if there's anything else that I can help with. 🙂

well, I could delete this, but will answer my own question.
not sure but believe the auto-populated secret key either (1) looks almost like the new one but is the old one, or 2) the secret key must be hand-typed in anew. Either way, hand-typing in a double check emergency kit secret key and my existing password seem to do the trick. hope this helps someone.
