Full 1P sheet pops up every time password is filled in 1P8

Previously on my iPhone with 1Password 7 when password filling is happening, a very lightweight face ID UI would pop up, validate, and fill it in.

Now with 1Password 8, whenever I fill in a password, the entire screen gets taken over by a 1P login screen that flashes up while Face ID is confirming and then the entire screen goes away, and then the password is filled.

This new interstitial animation is rather distracting and much less smooth than the 1P7 design. Is this intentional and is there a way to get it back to the 1P7 design?
