Help with move from 1Password 7 to 1Password 8

I have 1Password 8 on my Mac.  I have a new Macbook  and tried to install 1Password 8 but somehow ended up with 1Password 7 and a monthly invoice for it. I have tried to uninstall the 1Password 7 but have no luck. It says can't uninstall because its open. it is not open. can someone help with how to uninstall and also how to stop monthly charge, I have already paid through my version 8.
