12 months agoThanks for the reply. Each vault is independent from other vaults. You can move or copy items from one vault to another using the steps in this guide: Move or copy items
I'm trying to move my items somewhere secure so I can delete everything in my main vault. There is to much there including duplicates and more. I would then like to remove all my items from the main vault so none are there and then when I need one, go get it from the backup vault and move it to the main one.
I would recommend that you use tags to organize the cleanup that you've described. You can create a tag called AUDIT
and add it to all of your items. Then, when you've decided that a certain item is one that you wish to keep you can remove the AUDIT
tag to let yourself know that this item is one that you've already looked into: Organize with favorites and tags
If the duplicate items are exactly the same and in the same vault then you can also use 1Password's Watchtower tool to clean them up:
- Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
- Click on Watchtower in the sidebar.
- Click on Show Items under Items with duplicates.
There were a bunch of items in the archive "vault" but not all of them. I created a vault and moved everything there. I checked and everything was there. I then went to the main vault and deleted everything. Then I went to t vault where I had saved everything. It was empty. The archive had a lot of items but not everything. It made me realize I don not understand vaults. At this point, I'm just confused and not sure what items I have left. I don't think everything that was in the main vault is in the backup vault, though a lot is.
That doesn't sound right. Each vault has it's own Archive, there is no independent "Archive vault" included in 1Password by default. Is it possible that you moved items to the Archive of your Personal/Private vault and then deleted them from there? Or did you create an entirely new vault called "Archive vault"?
If you've accidentally deleted an item less than 30 days ago you can restore it. To restore a deleted item, select Recently Deleted in the sidebar in the 1Password app. Then choose the item and select Restore Item.
