Thanks for the clarification. When you copy and paste a password from the generator generator, rather than using 1Password's suggestion, you're removing 1Password's ability to know that the password was generated by 1Password and is thus truly random and secure.
Passwords generated directly by 1Password will be rated as stronger than passwords that might have come from another source, even if the two passwords are identical. This is because other sources may not be truly random in the same way that 1Password generated passwords are random. Summary: if you copy and paste a password, even if it was originally generated by 1Password, that password will be rated weaker since 1Password can't guarantee that the pasted password is truly random and it has to assume that it is human created rather than guessing if it's random or not.
