How to change my account type?
Hi there,
Thank you for contacting 1Password Support! I'm Ese and I'd be happy to help you today.
If you're currently subscribed through a third party like Apple or Google Play, you'll need to cancel your subscription before you're able to make changes to a plan. If you'd like any guidance, the support guides below are there to help:
* [Cancel Apple](https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions)
* [Cancel Google Play](https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481)
**Please note, cancelling your subscription will not impact any of your data.**
Once the third-party subscription has been cancelled, please let us know and we will provide the next steps. We can apply a credit reflecting remaining time on the subscription, if applicable.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards,
Ese

I want to change my account type to Individual account
BOT:
To change your account type from a Family account to an Individual account, you need to ensure that you are the only person using the Family account. Here are the steps you can follow: 1. Sign in to your account on 1Password.com and select **[Billing](https://start.1password.com/billing)** in the sidebar. 2. Under "Individual," select **Switch plan**. Please note that to switch to an Individual account, you must be the only person using your Family account. If there are other family members, you may need to delete their accounts first. You can learn how to [delete a family member's account](https://support.1password.com/add-remove-family-members/#remove-a-family-members-account-permanently). If you started your subscription with an in-app purchase, you won't be able to change your account type yourself and will need to [contact 1Password Support](https://1password.com/contact-support). Would you like to be connected to an agent for further assistance?
USER:
Yes I did start my subscription with an in-app purchase. And now I DO contact 1Password Support SUMMARY: Customer wants to change their Family Organizer account to an Individual account but started via in-app purchase.

I have not subscribed via iOS or Android. Please verify this, as my account has been frozen.
I paid for 1password via my own credit card, but not iOS or Android subscription.
