I'd be interested to hear: what prevents you from installing apps that aren't from the App Store? While individual messages can be dismissed, it isn't possible to turn off upgrade notifications entirely. 1Password 7 is no longer being developed, and so it would be prudent to find a way to upgrade to 1Password 8 in order to continue receiving 1Password updates. While it is possible we'll eventually release 1Password 8 on the App Store, there are no definitive plans to do so at this time. If you've got your Mac set to only allow App Store apps, you may want to consider adjusting that setting:

In System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click General. Click the lock and enter your password to make changes. Select App Store and identified developers under the header “Allow apps downloaded from.”
