How to Test Recovery Code?

On the topic of testing the Recovery Code, some feedback/question: 1Password was prompting me to finish setup by generating a recovery code. I clicked "Generate Recovery Code", I then both saved a PDF of the code and printed the code. I then needed to enter the code in 1Password to complete setup. Problem 1: For the provided code, I can't tell if the "0" character is a letter or number. Problem 2: Making an assumption re: problem 1, I entered the code and clicked "Save" or whatever the prompt was. I was not prompted to enter a second time, unlike many systems, so I could have entered incorrect keystrokes. I don't know if 1Password actually validated whether the Recovery Code matched what was generated, or just accepted what I typed in; AND I cannot now reveal what I typed in, so I have no idea if the Recovery Code matches what I have on paper, and whether this code will actually work if I should need it in the future. Not a good user experience! Is there a way I can verify the code will work if needed? Thanks-
