How to turn off the Apple Passwords app

Thanks for the question! You can turn off Apple Passwords for the entire Mac by doing the following:

  1. Click on the apple logo in the top right corner of the screen in your menubar, then click System settings. 
  2. Click General. 
  3. Click Autofill & Passwords. 
  4. Turn off "Autofill Passwords and Passkeys".


I recommend that you also follow the steps in this guide to turn off the built-in password manager in your browser: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser

On your iPhone and iPad, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap General > AutoFill & Passwords.
  3. Turn on AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys.
  4. Turn off Apple Passwords.
  5. Turn on 1Password.
