There are a lot of websites that will just show the generic name and a few that will show the actual name that you have selected in your iPhone.
Their is nothing on your end to fix that.
Yes would be nice to show the actual name of your device, but I think it depends on the server software.
Yahoo used to show the actual name of device on their website, but they changed their server software and now you only see the generic name.
Most bank websites do show the actual device name if your using their credit card added to Apple pay wallet..
Most people do not even know that their devices even have a name and it is always default name like the generic.
Your smart to be aware that every device you should change the name to a nick name or something that you know and is recognizing to who ever you airdrop with will see, but does not it give you away to hackers.
That way you want be targeted.
To change device name go to
iPhone (path) setting, general, about name.
After changing you might need to restart and give it about 15min for it to change.
I have iOS 17 and it shows generic, but it also shows older version of iOS there that should be fixed.
Again if deauthorized and just signing using app it wan tell you the iOS version which is better than showing the wrong version.
