Installing 1Password for Linux on Steam Deck / Steam OS

Curious if anyone here has successfully gone through the steps of installing 1Password for Steam Deck / Steam OS? Complete newbie to Linux which Steam OS is based off so I don't even know ...
Regarding AUR, the steamdeck doesn't come with the proper build tools to compile. You can disable root protections to install them with sudo pacman -S base-devel (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/60434363/how-to-fix-makepkg-installation-problem), but they'd be wiped away with the next OS update anyways.
https://support.1password.com/install-linux/#flatpak seems the best way, unless you're willing to use a beta system daemon https://1password.community/discussion/143368/anyone-using-a-steamdeck.
