I'm so sorry for the slow response here. This is a good question and I believe you should be able to tune the settings to achieve your goal. To make sure we're giving the best advice, please share a few things:

  • 1Password version
  • iPadOS version
  • Screenshot(s) of your security settings in 1Password on the iPad in question, being careful not to include any personally identifiable information.
