3 years agoItem history versions
For some items like secure notes, I make a lot of edits to get the Markdown formatting right since the Markdown is rendered only after saving the item.
- Does each Save store a version of the item in the item history?
- Is there a limit to the number of versions it stores?
- How long is this version history retained?
- If I pick a version from the history and restore it, does that create another version as if I were to manually update it?
- Is the 1password.com web app the only place to review item history? Not the mobile app or even the Windows app? That's a bummer.
Thanks

Hi again @shhh
In answer to your questions:
- Yes.
- No.
- Until the item is deleted.
- Yes. As an example, if there were 5 previous versions, and you restore to version 3, then that would become version 6.
- At the moment, yes, 1Password.com is the only place to manage item history, except for previously used passwords, which you can find from the š½ down arrow button next to the main Password field in an item.
We are working to bring 1Password.com functionality to the apps, and vice versa. That work is ongoing, so there's nothing to announce about it just now, but it is on our to-do list. :)
