3 hours agoLet’s talk about digital estate planning
Over the past few months, digital estate planning has become one of the most common topics our customers have brought up. We’ve seen it in comments, support questions, feature discussions, and even during our recent Reddit AMA. A lot of folks are trying to figure out where to start, how to prepare loved ones, and what “getting it right” even looks like. It’s a big topic, and it touches every part of our digital lives.
No one likes to think about death — their own or anyone else’s. But as our lives move increasingly online, it’s worth considering what happens to our digital selves after we’re gone. From social media accounts to crypto wallets, our digital footprint now extends far beyond the physical world.
Because so many people have been asking for clarity and reassurance, we’re building a set of resources to help you build a plan that feels doable, thoughtful, and secure. This isn’t a limited campaign or a one-time spotlight. Digital estate planning now has a permanent home in the Community, and we’ll keep expanding it as more questions come up.
Below you’ll find everything that’s available today, along with a little context about how each piece fits in.
A short, heartfelt video to start the conversation
To help people ease into the topic, we've created a short introductory video that focuses on why digital estate planning matters. It’s meant to be a starting point for anyone who isn’t sure what this even looks like in practice or how to begin thinking about it.

A six-chapter guide to building your digital estate plan
For those who prefer something they can sit with and return to over time, there’s a full six-chapter guide that walks through every major step of the process.
It covers what belongs in your digital estate, how to organize your accounts, preparing secure access for trusted contacts, documenting your wishes, handling sensitive information, keeping everything up to date, and sharing it in a way that keeps everyone safe.
It’s designed to be a steady foundation you can build on, whether you’re starting from zero or refining an existing plan.

A special episode of Random But Memorable
We invited Erin Bury, CEO of Willful, to join us for a conversation on Random But Memorable.
She talks through why estate planning can feel so intimidating, what’s actually required, and how even small steps can make things easier down the road. Hearing someone break it down calmly and openly has already helped a lot of listeners feel more confident about taking that first step.
Why we’re making this a permanent part of the Community
Digital estate planning isn’t just about accounts and passwords.
It’s about helping the people who will eventually pick up the pieces. It’s about making sure someone you trust can find what they need, when they need it, without stress or confusion.
Over time, you’ll see more guides, more conversations with experts, and more space here in the Community to ask questions, compare approaches, and share what’s worked for you.
We’d love to hear from you
