Linux client configuration for electron workaround

Getting the following crash with the Linux app:

[1821848:0309/054307.587362:ERROR:gpu_process_host.cc(991)] GPU process exited unexpectedly: exit_code=512
[1821848:0309/054322.595339:ERROR:gpu_process_host.cc(991)] GPU process exited unexpectedly: exit_code=512
[1821848:0309/054337.603808:ERROR:gpu_process_host.cc(991)] GPU process exited unexpectedly: exit_code=512
[1821848:0309/054337.603846:FATAL:gpu_data_manager_impl_private.cc(440)] GPU process isn't usable. Goodbye.
zsh: trace trap 1password

Workaround described https://github.com/Automattic/simplenote-electron/issues/3044, for another electron-based app, is to use --in-process-gpu.

How can I do the same for 1Password, regardless of the mechanism I use for opening the app? That is, I want to configure this in application settings, not a desktop or start menu shortcut.

  • Hi cboettcher, thanks for the update! I'm so pleased to hear that disabling hardware acceleration got things working for you 😄

    Hi Ali,

Just to wrap this thread up, I was advised to disable Hardware Acceleration and that worked around the issue.

    Thanks,
    Casey
