More options to turn off markdown and sync the markdown setting across the app and the extension

We understand that, but this is basic functionality. I think most users would agree that settings should work accurately and as expected between interfaces – whether that's the apps or the extensions.
Having the apps display text correctly, while the extensions display text incorrectly (per the only option available in the apps), is not that.
