Hallo, it looks that an old issue is back: I get an email notifications that a safari extention from a new device logged into 1password, and that happens each time I start up the Safari browser (on iOS and iPadOS)... Since a few weeks ago I am frequently getting incorrect sign-in alerts when opening Safari on my iPhone and iPad. Not sure what is going on or how to get rid of the sign-in alerts.i am running iOS\iPadOS 18.3 beta 1 and 1Password beta 8.10.56. Hi everyone. We've had reports of this happening pretty consistently if you're using the beta of iOS 18.3 or iPadOS 18.3. Something seems to have changed in Safari which is making the 1Password browser extension forget that it's still signed in. It appears that Safari is doing some housekeeping on the local storage that the 1Password browser extension needs. This is essentially the same as deleting your own cookies for a website, and it not remembering you being signed in. When the 1Password browser extension recovers from this, it has no way of knowing that it was signed in before, so has no alternative but to assume this is a new sign-in, which leads to the email you receive. We've been working with Apple about this to see how we can work around those changes, both as feedback for them, and as a mitigation from our side too. That work is in internal testing right now. With it being this time of year, I can't say for sure when it'll be available. This has also affected the beta of macOS 15.3 to some extent, but we're seeing far more reports of it on iOS and iPadOS than macOS. If you're using the beta of iOS or iPadOS 18.3, you may want to temporarily turn off the 1Password browser extension in Safari by going to the Settings app > Apps > Safari > Extensions. This will stop those repeated emails. Autofilling using "🔑 Passwords" on the keyboard will still work as normal.

I currently have two accounts set up (Business and family). Since upgrading to iOS 18.3, I receive an email every time I open Safari for each account saying that I have a new sign in alert. When I go to look at all my trusted devices, it seems to go on forever with Safari. Beginning a few days ago, I started receiving many, many alarming emails from 1Password warning of new sign-ins from Safari. This caused quite a bit of angst, and a bunch of wasted time, including on Christmas when I really didn’t want to be thinking about computer security issues, because I was afraid that 1Password had somehow been compromised. But instead it seems like it’s probably somehow related to Safari on one of my devices, possibly my iPad… it seems like I’m getting these alert emails nearly every time I use it. I am not signing into or using 1Password (to my knowledge) when most of the emails seem to be generated, just using the iPad or Safari is enough. In my list of devices, there are a zillion entries for Safari, with a bunch of different addresses, which is why I was concerned. But I don’t have any reason to think there is anything nefarious going on though I admit that I don’t understand all the entries and differing addresses. It’s also possible the emails are being generated by 1Password on my Mac, but in that case they are happening at times I’m not even using the computer, so that would be even weirder. DaviatorSF that is a great workaround. I disabled the 1P Safari extension on both my iPhone and iPad and turned off that Share across devices so it still works on my Mac. I don't seem to be getting any of those emails any more and 1Password filling still works surprisingly well. Makes you wonder what the great value of the extension really is.

If so, our Development team are currently investigating an issue where users on iOS 18.3 or Safari 18.3 on Mac are receiving sign in emails when they use 1Password in Safari, as well as seeing the initial setup flow. While I don't have a timeline for when the fix will be available, rest assured that they're working to get it out as soon as possible. Though I understand it's not ideal, one workaround for iOS in the meantime would be to disable the 1Password for Safari extension on your iOS device(s) and use AutoFill to fill your logins instead. Similarly, you could disable the extension in Safari on your Mac and use Universal Autofill to fill in Safari. Alternatively, you could try and revert to a previous version of Safari on your Mac.

I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause in the meantime. Let me know if you have any questions.

This is happening with my iOS devices (iPhone and iPad). Most of the time I open Safari on my iOS devices, 1Password opens a new tab asking me to set up the 1Password extension, although I've had 1Password for years.

This started happening maybe about a few weeks ago. It is happening 50-70% of the time I switch to Safari.

In addition, I started getting email that says "new 1Password sign-in alert". Again, not all the time but quite frequently. This also makes no sense as I've had 1Password for years, and I'm using the same devices.

Is there a way to fix this issue? My info:

- iOS and iPadOS: 18.3
