Opportunity for more feedback
Hello-
Last time I compared, 1Password was the best password manager, and it is the one I use. However, I am regularly frustrated by it's inability to detect and allow filling in fields on certain sites. I have seen in the past where people post those in the forum and someone responses and ultimately says it is fixed. But even getting into the forum is tough- it refuses to send confirmation e-mail to my personal domain name, so I had to change my e-mail address to a gmail address to receive it.
Anyway, here is my suggestion: Put a button in the 1Password pop-up that appears in the browser, and another one in the 1Password extension button (for those cases where 1Password simply fails to recognize it is on a sign-on screen and does not provide anything), and provide a 1-click way users can give feedback on websites where 1Password is not working properly.
Example: When I go to the website, https://supplier.coupahost.com/sessions/new, 1Password recognizes the e-mail prompt as one needing a login, but it does not find my login that is clearly in 1Password with the exact web address listed. So, I think somehow it does not recognize that the "Email" field is the one that needs to be filled in with my e-mail, and it doesn't think it has any relevant information. I have to manually type my e-mail, and then on the next screen where it asks for password, 1Password is happy to enter the password. I should be able to just click a button in the 1Password drop-down, select "Problem with this site, and choose an option or type something to explain that 1Password is not filling in the "Email" field with my e-mail login. That would allow 1Password to get much more and more timely feedback than relying on the minority of users who will find the support forum, create a sign-on, and make posts to rectify each individual site issue.
While I am on the topic of opportunities, a few others:
- I know I have seen this before, but the synchronization between the browser extension and the application is very slow. If I update a password, it should become available in the other within seconds, not hours.
- The Android application support is sketchy. Most of the time it detects a password can be filled in an application, it only gives me an option to make a 1-time exception to fill the password, instead of letting me accept that it should fill that password every time I use that application. In addition, many times, it has no idea an application should have login information populated, and it has no way for me to let it know. I have to pull up 1Password and manually copy and paste the login data.

Hi drobins9,
Thanks for submitting your idea for a more one-click way to report webpages that aren't working with 1Password. I've submitted your idea to the Product team for them to take a look at.
I didn't see any support tickets from your email address. I hope you'll send us a message at support@1password.com so we can dive into the syncing and Android app issues you're seeing and see if we can improve your experience.
