Passkeys stored in 1password on Android cannot be accessed on Google pixel

I have a new Google pixel 7a and use 1Password. I have tried this in Chrome and Brave Browsers 1password is not offering to fill passwords in the browser, if I click the password icon it says I...

To whoever stumbles on this, I hope you find this and that this fixes it for you.
I had the same issue on my Pixel 8a for a good while.

I finally tried just now to:

  • settings > passwords, passkeys and accounts
  • Preferred service > edit > set to NONE
  • Preferred service > edit > set to 1Password again
    • (I also readded Google and Microsoft Authenticator as additional services. Just wanted to state that having this on still worked)

DONE. Now I'm seeing 1Password autofill suggestions atop the keyboard (I realize even this was missing), and now I also see passkeys suggestions from 1Password.

So, reregistering as the preferred service did it. Fixed.
