Pre v8 search and filtering, can I get that behavior back?

I honestly really don't like the new search and filtering in the UI. Pre v8 I'm pretty sure a 'return'/'enter' after typing the search criteria did a 'show all matching items'. Now it's a cmd + return. can I change that behavior so that i don't have to fight my muscle memory every time?

+1 for this return or option to have filtering as you type a search pattern. I do not find the search in 1Password 8 to be an improvement over what was in v7. Much nicer to have it filter/narrow down as I type my search vs. having to type a pattern and then have to use a special key combination (Cmd-Enter) to see the results. Yet one more area where 1Password appears to have taken a step backwards, and frankly not sure why.

Thanks for your feedback about this. We do have an open feature request that is being tracked internally to provide the option to change the default search behaviour. I understand why it would be preferred and have filed a proxy vote on your behalf.
Like viswiz mentioned (thanks!), there is an alternative Find feature that can be activated with the
command+option+Fshortcut.Thanks for letting us know it's important to you and let me know if you have any questions. 🙂

You are not alone. This was reported early during beta testing (about ten months ago) and they are still considering changes🙄. You can get a 1PW7 like search by using CMD + OPT + F. This opens a search box next to the sort button above the item list. This works like the good old superior 1PW7 search. I‘ve already requested to make this the default and fully replacing the annoying new search.
