QR code detection fails in app & browser extension

In 1Password 7, I had no issues at all using the QR code detection feature. But in the new Electron-powered v8 version, as I can no longer move the scanner over the code and it tries to automatically...

Could you try logging in and out? That's what got me going when I had a tough time getting my permissions to be taken. If in doubt a restart may also help.
