Really slow/unusable

I upgraded to 1Password 8(.9.4) on Mac OS 11.6.7 and it's running incredibly slowly - perhaps 12 seconds to open the 1Password window?
Also, the filling in no longer seems instantaneous - it looks like it's literally being typed.

1Password6 was super-snappy. 1Password7 was a bit lagy. 1Password8 seems unusable. Help!
