Rename categories: Social Security Numbers is an American term

Hi

Is it possible to rename the category "Social Security Numbers" to something that is locally relevant? In New Zealand, we all have IRD (Inland Revenue Department) numbers. Other countries probably call them something else.

If its not possible to rename the category on a per user basis, perhaps could we have a "translation" for users in the New Zealand locale that has a more locally appropriate name? Its a minor but annoying usability issue that I keep stumbling over. I have to remember, "oh yes, this is a US product and they call IRD Numbers something different" each time.

    I just recently saved my SIN number (Canada) and see that this issue was never fixed.  I know each of us only have the one SIN number, but it should be named correctly and have a Canadian logo.

    Using anything with an American context is specially distasteful these days.  One of the reasons I chose 1Password is that you are a Canadian Company.

    Any updates?

      Try and change the name to something that suits your desires and even upload a custom icon. I did the same as I use the template for my insurance needs. Give that a go and let us know what you think. This will help you make it yours. * Note it's not possible to rename the template itself just the name of the item you save.

        Thanks for your reply.  I had already done as you suggested.

        It is disappointing that the template can't be changed based on the country of origin.

        Other than that I am very happy with the software.  Great job!

    Hi Dave. Thanks for the super fast reply.
    Yes, individual items in the category are named for what they are. It is the category name in the left menu (and when creating new items) that i keep tripping over.

    Thank you for the feedback! I can certainly understand the pain here, I'm in Canada and we call them "Social Insurance Numbers" here. I'll pass along your comments and request to our product team so that they can look into better localizing category names to different locations in the future.

    For the time being, you can rename the title of the item which is what I did. Would that work for you as a workaround? Or are you creating new "Social Security Number" items regularly?
