Reverting back from Apple Passwords

Me again Dave,
It is getting worse. I have probably made some incorrect choices, no nothing is working at all. When I click on the 1Password icon in the Safari tool bar, it simply opens 1Password and does not provide the three bars to get to settings and invoke 1Password as my password manager on Safari. Should I scrub everything and start again? I know it is my fault that I opened Apple Passwords, but I am now in terrible shape with nothing working. I even tried to use Apple Password without success.
Sorry, I am not an amateur, but this issue has really messed me up. I hope you have some sympathy for me.
