Thanks 1P_Dave I'll leave for now and let the time work for us, Apple seems the be a little behind :-) lets hope they cach up with Google and Microsoft at some point.

Thank you for the reply. Apple assigns a passkey for your Apple ID automatically and it's saved on your iPhone. For the moment, this passkey can't be saved in any third-party managers including 1Password.

For more details about Apple's implementation, including how to manage this passkey, I recommend reaching out to Apple Support since they would have the most accurate information. πŸ™‚

I can’t find the passkey on my iPhone, it should be under Settings/Passwords I presume? To me it seems Apple has build something custom, at least not as intended or like Google/Microsoft

1P_Dave thanks for the update. Glad it wasn't just me. Do you happen to know if there will be a way to scan bar codes to save passkeys. Apple does offer that it looks like when is signing from your desktop.

  • Hello everyone,

It looks like Apple automatically saves a passkey for your Apple ID to your iPhone and there isn't yet opportunity to save that passkey in 1Password. Hopefully, as passkeys continue to develop and mature, this will change in the future.

9elsen I didn't know that Microsoft was working fully yet. You mean the personal or business account? Personal i got it to work with the windows hello but unable to remove password without using the authenticator app.

    Have the same problem.
Seems like the passkey for Apple is not stored in the keychain.
Could be that Apple is not ready yet, and did something custom, or that they do not want you to store the key elsewhere than on their ecosystem.
Passkeys for both Google and Microsoft works as expected. On Microsoft you can even disable password, to gain the full benefit of passkey login.

You could go to iOS settings, tap name at top, then tap sign in & security, but I do not see an option for passkeys there yet.
    Good luck on passkeys πŸ™ˆ
    or
You can go there using your browser, but I doubt if it is not in the app area it probably want be here either cause the app syncs from this link, but try and see.
