Search inconsistency in 1Password 8
When searching in all vaults, I see the list of filtered items, from which I can select with mouse or keyboard - great. However, once I hit Cmd+Enter to show the filtered results, I actually get more items than I saw in the search bar. I am guessing that is because the extra item has the matching search term in the notes, which is somehow excluded from the search results when actively typing in the search field.
If this is unclear, I can try to generate an screenshot example.

I hate the new search experience in v8. Prefer the auto filter option we had before, as it was quick and easy. - viswizSuper Contributor
Whoever designed the new search 'experience' has probably never ever used search in one of the previous 1PW versions.

I don't like V8 search at all. I agree with what has been said. Put it back to how it was or give us an option to restore the old functionality. I want an instant as-I-type search function and match what I type exactly. No soft matching, because then everything comes back for the terms I often search for.

I have 2 macs. I love the old search so much better on my old system. On v8 it's now multiple steps and sometimes I need to search more than once. It's something I do many times a day. It feels like a big step backwards. It's not about Electron or the current design, that's fine. It's the search functionality.
1. Start typing to search
2. See a limited dropdown list that contains limited results(only up to 8)
3. Click command+return or go at the bottom of the list
4. Select the item I want or.. search again if the results are too broad. I won't know until I see the final results.
The old method:
1. Start typing until I see a list filtered enough by current typing
2. Select the item I want. - esquaredSuper Contributor
If that's true, then you'll have to expect my next question: Why? Search is search, and both should use the same methods, and doing anything else is simply a recipe for confusion at best, and frustration at worst. Never make the user try to understand the differentiation in the implementation - that's not the job of users.
