Separate Address / City / State

Almost every site I encounter has separate address, city, state, etc. fields but 1PW has everything in one field and it doesn't fill for me. I end up having to manually type this in.

Am I missing something or can this feature be added? I know you can pull the app up and copy each of these individually but this is not really convenient. Why not make it a macro of sorts and fill what it sees.

Otherwise love the app and have been using it since v3.x. Thanks.

Alright I found the disconnect. Our address fields must have been fields we added manually at some point. I realize now you have a separate section called out specifically for address. Once I utilized that, the address in the test dev site filled perfectly. I know I was able to use my address fields in 1PW in the past. Was this a recent change with v8?

Some additional feedback, I made a generic identity with just name and address and it filled the form in fine. I then remade my identity from scratch but it still didn't fill. I had more fields than the test ID but not sure why that would matter.

Thanks Jack_P_1P for the test site. It does not work there either. I also tried deleting my address field then reentering my address but no luck. Let me know what else I can try.

    Hi Fury:

Thanks for following up. I notice you're using Safari as your browser. After confirming everything looks good in 1Password for Safari's settings, restart Safari and let me know if that improves your state of play. You can use our testing website (fill.dev) to confirm that addresses are being suggested in fields. If you're not seeing an address suggested after doing that, we'll likely want to take a closer look at your specific setup. Let me know.

It was already set up as you show.

  • Hi Fury,

Thanks for the additional info. In that case, I'd recommend double checking that you have the 1Password browser extension: Get started with 1Password in your browser

If you already have it but it isn't behaving as expected: If 1Password isn't working in your browser

The setting that makes Jack's recording possible can be found by right-clicking the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar, navigating to Settings, then Autofill and making sure "show autofill menu on field focus" is turned on:

Let me know how this goes or if you have any questions. 🙂

To clarify, my address fields are set up just like yours but I can’t fill in like you show.

My field looks exactly like yours. I can’t see the pop up you click on though.

    Hi Fury:

1Password should definitely be able to fill multi-part address fields like that.

For example, here's what a test item might look like:

And here's what filling it into a page would look like:

Let me know if that's how you have your address item set up, and I can take a closer look.
