    Hello annedavy,

Thanks for your message and welcome to 1Password!

When adding an SSN item to 1Password, entering dashes comes down to personal preference and how you are using that data.

If you need to copy the SSN field from the item in 1Password to add it to a form, it will include dashes if you entered them. If a particular form only accepts numbers or is limited by the number of characters it can hold, having dashes in place may cause troubles.

I hope this information helps, but if you have any other questions, we'll be here for you.

I'm VERY new to 1Password and making entry's for the first time in most cases. I'm not sure if this is relevant or not, but does it matter whether we use dashes when entering the SSN in the password field?
