So I have to keep the 1PW menubar icon on MacOS open?

I recently switched to 1PW, so far fuctionality is good. But in two days I discovered some isssues I don't really like.

  1. So I switched and went to the start here in iOS, it has 4 steps. The last being "Activate autofill", I did activate the Autofill, the 1PW app confirms the activation and does not check the last step. Result, the "Start here" leaves you with still one thing to do. That looks quite clumsy.
  2. After importing I of course want to do some checking if everything is still there and directly do some cleaning up. A thing that strikes me that although I have set sorting to Title it every time defaults back to Date modified. I have seen a discussion on that, but it isn't fixed.
  3. Another typical Mac issue what surprises me from Agilebits/1PW coming originally from the mac platform. Closing the 1PW app on a Mac closes the application. This is not very Mac like. I understand that keeping the menubar-item open prevents the app from closing. But to be honest this is a solution for a problem that should not exist at all.
  4. Adding to the last issue, look at the screenshot below, in my already cluttered menubar-items you can see how the 1PW icon looks. Can anyone explain to me why it has to look so horrible. Take a look at any other icon, it hurts my eyes to be forced (see item 3) to look at that all day long.

  • Hello DETLEVSKI! 👋

Welcome to 1Password! I'm happy to answer your questions below:

I'm sorry for the confusion. This is a known issue that our development team is tracking. For the time being, the following steps should help you to workaround the issue:

    1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
    2. Tap General > AutoFill & Passwords.
    3. Temporarily disable AutoFIll Passwords & Passkeys.
    4. Quit 1Password from the App Switcher.
    5. Re-open and unlock 1Password.
    6. Tap the Guided Setup steps, then choose the AutoFill item in the list.
    7. Follow the steps in the 1Password app to enable Password AutoFill.
    8. Tap Done when the steps are complete.

Let me know if that doesn't work.

This is a bug that our team is currently testing a fix for in the latest nightly version of 1Password. As soon as testing is complete, we hope to release the fix to the beta and then to the production version as soon as possible.

1Password contains that most important items in our lives and the menu bar icon serves as a visual indicator to let you know when 1Password is running and unlocked even if the main window is closed. This is done to avoid situations where 1Password is open and unlocked on your system without you knowing.

That being said, I know that some folks do use third-party apps to hide menu bar icons that they don't want to see day-to-day.

Can you tell me a little more about what looks off about the icon? It looks the same as it looks on my device:

Are the jagged edges just part of the screenshot that you posted? Or do you actually see a lower resolution icon on your Mac then what is displayed in my screenshot?
