Generally speaking, I always recommend pulling in a new copy of your data on 1Password.com and not working with a something like a Time Machine or Migration Assistant.
The Secret Key is 1/2 the encryption to your account. You need it along with your password to decrypt your data.
Before starting verify all of your data is on 1Password.com and then on the new device sign into your account. Everything on 1Password.com will be pulled down to the new device.

9 months agoYes, with a membership all data is synced through your account on 1Password.com. Generally, it's a visual verification.
Each device has a local cache of data. So if you have 3 devices (e.g. Mac, iPhone, and iPad) you'll have 3 sets of cached data in addition to the database on 1Password.com
