Hello folks,
I'm happy to share that you can now add Zen Browser as an additional browser to 1Password for Windows. Follow these steps:
- Install 1Password in Zen Browser from the Firefox Browser Add-ons Store
- Add Zen Browser as an additional browser to 1Password: Connect additional browsers to the 1Password app
A couple of notes:- Make sure that Zen Browser is installed system-wide with admin permissions in the C:\Program Files folder.
- Zen Browser is not an officially supported browser and you might run into unexpected issues. If you see those same issues with a supported browser like Firefox then let us know by starting a new discussion and we can investigate.

10 months agoHey faser -- the current status remains unchanged.
The team still plans to bring the custom browser feature to Windows, but we don’t have a specific timeline to share. I know that’s not the answer you’re hoping for, but it’s the most accurate update available right now.
As soon as there’s news to share, we’ll post an update here.

If you have no timeline then you absolutely need to change your policy of not approving individual browsers anymore until custom browsers are supported on Windows and Linux. Telling people that they can use a feature that only exists on one of the many platforms you ship clients for is simply not a solution.

bitteOrca We’ve been pretty clear throughout this thread that manually approving individual browsers isn’t a direction the team is continuing to support, even as a stopgap.
The long-term solution is the custom browser feature, which is already available on Mac and is being worked on for additional platforms.

Why even roll out a feature if you aren’t going to bother rolling it out to all platforms? This is truly bizarre behavior for a feature people clearly care about.

Thank you for the feedback. The feature needs to be built separately for macOS and Windows (due to the different nature of these platforms) and other important work that needs to be completed for the Windows platform has so far needed to be prioritized for our Windows developers.
