Touch ID on Macbook Pro not working after upgrade for 1P7 to 1P8

hi all, After upgrading from 1P7 to 1P8 (and changing my Mac user password do not recall what triggered it) the fingerprint unlock does not work anymore in 1P8. It does still work in unlocking my ...

Hello @rudivandrunen! 👋

I'm sorry that Touch ID isn't working with 1Password 8 on your Mac. Can you try the following steps in order:

  1. Completely turn off your Mac and then turn it on to restart it. (Don't skip this step.)
  2. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
  3. Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Touch ID.
  4. Turn off all of the features, then turn all of them back on again.
  5. Go back to 1Password and choose 1Password > Preferences from the menu bar.
  6. Click the Security icon, then turn off "Touch ID" and turn it back on again.
  7. Lock 1Password by choosing 1Password > Lock from the menu bar.
  8. Now try unlocking 1Password using Touch ID.

For many people just restarting their Mac gets Touch ID working again, if it does for you as well then you can skip the rest of the steps. Let me know if Touch ID still doesn't work after trying this. 🙂
