Thank you for the requests and for the feedback! The team hopes to build a secure way to use unsupported browsers with the 1Password for Windows desktop app and I'll update this thread once there's more news to share.

I've noticed that the 1Password support page (https://support.1password.com/connect-1password-browser-app/) doesn’t list Wavebox as a supported browser, but you’ve indicated Wavebox can work with the beta version of 1Password for Windows.
If special accommodation is possible for Wavebox, could you please clarify why the same can’t be done for other browsers such as Zen, Floorp, and Perplexity Comet? Many users depend on alternative browsers for both productivity and privacy, so it would be incredibly valuable to allow either:
- The ability to add custom browsers as trusted within 1Password for Windows;
or - Officially adding Zen, Floorp, and Perplexity Comet, and maybe Arc on Windows to your list of supported browsers.
Can you explain what’s technically or otherwise blocking support for more browsers, and whether there is any plan or roadmap to enable this? Greater flexibility or native integration would really benefit many users, similar to what’s available on Mac and Linux.

2 months agoThank you for the question! Adding more supported browsers on an individual bases isn't a scalable solution due to the vast number of different browsers that folks have asked us to add support for over the years. In the past, each supported browser had to go through an extensive testing and vetting process in order to be added which resulted in only a small number of browsers being added.
Our new strategy is to build methods, on all platforms, to allow users to perform that vetting themselves and add whichever browser they'd like to 1Password even if it isn't officially supported. This feature is now available for macOS and Linux and the team hopes to build and release it for Windows in the future as well: Connect additional browsers to the 1Password app
