Hi sosomario:

As it currently stands, allowing 1Password to run in the background so it can respond to your shortcuts immediately when it's locked or closed requires it to be allowed in the menu bar. We're still discussing this internally, but for the time being, keeping 1Password in your menu bar would be your best option.
