V.8 1password.installer leaves a 1Password 7.app.zip in Applications. Why????

Looks like version 8 is installed and opens. but what's the leftover for?

First thing I noticed about 8, and absolutely hate, is you dumbed it down like the Windows version so you can't sort by Date Used. Very Disappointing.

    Dave_1P,

    Thanks for the confirmation.

I'm truly glad your adding back in the sort by date used. I'll be upgrading to v8 in Windows soon and am hopeful it will be added there also.

  • Hello ClickCardo! 👋

You've hit the nail on the head, the "1Password 7.app.zip" file that you see in your Applications folder after installing 1Password 8 is a backup of the 1Password 7 app that is saved just in case. It won't cause any issues if you leave it where it is.

Sorting items by date last used hasn't yet been implemented in 1Password 8. We do have a feature request open for this and I've added your comments so that our developers are aware that this is something that you'd like to see.

    I hope that helps. 😊

No answers yet. Probably too simple except for very basic users like myself. I did ferret out another possible explanation reading an earlier thread. 1Pw, please post a correction if my interpretation is incorrect. In any case hope you leave the thread for users who do not successfully use search.

It appears 1Password 7.app.zip is the version 7 app in case you want to revert. I believe you drag the new version 8 out of Applications to do so.

PS: have been using it on iOS since 2013 and earlier in Windows.

Sorry, should have added. No App Store sub. Always download/install direct from the website.

However, do have sub for 1PW on my iOS phone and iPads.

1PW is basically wonderfull and have been using it furever.
