v7 works, v8 crashes

I tried upgrading from v7 to v8 today, and v8 crashes with a breakpoint exception. I'm running Windows 10 (64 bit). Does v8 not work on windows 10? I reinstalled v7 and that still works.
Here's my windows version:
Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 22H2
Installed on ‎7/‎7/‎2021
OS build 19045.2728
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0

My .NET framework version is 4.0 if it matters.
