v8.5.0 keeps saying it wants to update to 8.5.0 but fails to do so.

The app, which is running 8.5.0, release 80500121, keeps popping up with "1Password will update when you restart the app.", but fails to do so. It wants to update to 8.5.0, which I am running. How...

Did you try to download and install the latest stable release manually?
https://releases.1password.com/windows/8.5/

If not, what happens if you try to do so?
