V8.8.0: reveal password or Show in Large Type end display way early

This seems new. If I have my passwords and credit card numbers hidden, then click Reveal or Show in Large Type, the data displays but goes away after about five seconds. It makes it really onerous to type credit card numbers on a different computer or phone since the display goes away too early. This was never the case before. Is this an iOS 16 issue? Thanks.
