Weird behaviour of Firefox extension after the New year

After returning to a work PC after the holidays, I have noticed a weird 1Pass extension behaviour. The icon was always locked, the browser ignored the extension and offered to save passwords itself. I have tried restarting the browser and the system (https://1password.community/discussion/149359/1password-firefox-extension-not-working-since-windows-11-24h2-feature-update, but the issue was different), to no avail.

Eventually I solved the locking issue by reinstalling the extension, but it still does not prevent Firefox from offering to save passwords itself, even though it is showing as managing passwords in settings.

Firefox 103.0.3, extension 8.10.56.28, Windows 11 (updated to current date), 1Password for Windows 8.10.56 (81056028)

Seriously, It happened on another machine today and twice on mine, the extension just halts and then crashes. How can I help you debug this?

Thank you for your reply. That's certainly strange. Please send a diagnostics report from the 1Password desktop app and the 1Password extension to mailto:support+forum@1Password.com so that we can investigate. With your email please include the community URL link.

      1. Recreate the issue.
      2. Generate a diagnostics report from the 1Password app and extension: https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/?mac
      3. Attach both files to your email.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Evon,

I have updated the browser and everything, but today I experienced another/same weird behaviour.

We have been having connectivity issues in our office and my Firefox extension seemed to have problems connecting to my local 1password instance.

Is it really so that the browser extension cannot correctly communicate with local 1password installation without outside internet connection?

Hello, finwe. Thank you for writing in.

I'm sorry about the problem you bumped into recently. I'm glad you resolved the locking issue by reinstalling 1Password in the browser. Regarding Firefox's built-in Autofill, please first check to make sure Firefox is up to date. The current latest version is 134.0.

Let me know how that goes.
